ABOUT KIMONO

Kimonos are traditional Japanese clothing.
To this day, it is not only worn as formal attire for special occasions but also as daily casual wear.

One kimono is generally made of a piece of cloth about 40cm wide and 12m long. Although there are some differences in the shape of men’s and women's kimono, it is a flexible structure that can be tailored to any body from the same size fabric. In addition, when tailoring a kimono, the width is adjusted by changing the sewing amount without cutting the seam allowance, so it is an efficient structure that can be returned to the square pieces of fabric and tailored again.

There is only one general shape to a kimono, however, it is a garment with a rich expression that combines dyeing and weaving techniques in various colors and patterns.
The straight and simple shape accentuates these colors and patterns.
Also, dressing a flat-shaped kimono onto a body, adjusting the garment to the curves will come to reveal the personality of the wearer.
Kimono has the potential leeway in it to be worn by the wearer freely as they like due to the coexistence with the act of “dressing on the body”.
