“By two” was born through exploring the potential of Japanese clothes. It is also the fruit of our search for a way to bring about manufacturing where there is close contact with the artisans and the factories that we had collaborated with.
The name “by two” comes from the elements in duality- of gender, between man and woman; of culture, between Japanese and Western clothing. The name also comes from the term “between”; the difference between the dualities, along with the overlapping nature between them.
“By two” is a unisex long jacket coat, suitable for various scenes including as a gown when stepping outside or as lounge wear when travelling as it folds neatly into a suitcase.
This garment inherits the efficient manufacturing of kimonos that produces no fabric waste in its cutting style. It also takes advantage of the short width fabric used in yukatas in its form. A new creation by HIROCOLEDGE that possesses a combination of Japanese and Western styles.
